Greens Leader Quits Over Illness

Larissa Waters will quit as head of the Greens, an environment-focused party, because kidney illness — kidneys clean blood like filters — sharply worsened in recent months. Her replacement is expected at a two-day Sydney meeting starting 30 September 2026. The vote will test climate demands and deal-making with Labor, the party in power.
