The Prime Minister's house needs repairs—and waiting makes it more expensive

The government shut down 24 Sussex Drive, the official home of the Prime Minister, in November 2022 because the building was in bad shape. Fixing it now costs $36.6 million. But each year the government delays, the bill grows—the building keeps deteriorating and construction prices rise. Ottawa is still working on a plan and hasn't decided what to do yet.
