Immigration chief didn't tell Parliament about $35m cancelled computer project

The boss of Immigration New Zealand failed to tell the committee that oversees the agency when a $35 million computer project was scrapped. Parliament only found out three months later. Officials are supposed to quickly tell these oversight committees about major spending decisions—that's how Parliament checks what the government does with public money.
