Valve Brings Its Gaming Operating System to Regular Gaming PCs

Valve is adapting SteamOS, the operating system from its Steam Deck handheld device, to work on standard desktop gaming computers. It now supports graphics cards and processors made by Nvidia and Intel, not just the Steam Deck's fixed components. Since the Steam Deck's 2022 launch, enough gamers have adopted it that Valve now sees its custom operating system as a real alternative to Windows for gaming PCs.
