Property auctions hit rock bottom — without the lockdowns

House auctions are failing at rates not seen since the pandemic. Fewer than half are selling. But this time it's not because people can't attend. Buyers are there. They're just refusing to meet asking prices. More than half the properties go unsold, leaving sellers to relist and negotiate — or accept lower offers.
