Most past home sellers would have paid less profit tax under Labor idea

Modelling by the e61 Institute of nearly 921,000 Australian homes bought and sold from 2008 to 2025 found most sellers would have paid less tax on their profit under Labor's inflation-adjustment idea than under the current half-off rule. Typical yearly profit was 3.3% after selling costs, while price rises averaged about 3%.
