More Indian Students Are Choosing U.S. Universities Than Chinese Students
India sent more new students to American universities in 2024 than China did for the first time. India now has 206,698 students in the U.S., compared to China's 362,368. India's growth surged 11.8 percent because millions of young Indians need college but don't have enough universities at home. American employers often prefer graduates with foreign degrees. Whether this trend continues depends on whether the U.S. makes it harder for international students to move here.
