Two Planes Nearly Collided at Boston Airport, Forcing One to Abort Landing

A Delta plane coming in to land at Boston Logan had to pull up and circle around on June 21 to avoid an American Airlines jet taking off. The two aircraft came within 300 feet of each other — roughly the length of a football field. The FAA is investigating. Standard safety rules require thousands of feet between planes. A quick decision to abort the landing likely prevented a collision.
