Fire in LA Warehouse Triggers Emergency Response Across City and State

A warehouse fire in Boyle Heights filled much of East Los Angeles with smoke. The mayor and governor declared emergencies, which unlocks extra money and equipment from both city and state—including possible military help and air-quality testing. Two shelters opened for people who lost their homes as firefighters and officials worked to protect residents.
