Belgium and Rwanda Talking Again After Long Fallout

Belgium and Rwanda are talking officially again as of September 23, 2026, after 18 months of no contact. Each had sent the other's representatives home because of fighting in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Both say they will reopen their embassies — their official offices abroad — soon. Promises matter less than whether staff actually go back.
