New online insurance shop opens in five states

Coverage Cat opened Sept. 22, 2026 as a licensed insurance seller for higher-income households in California, Florida, New York, Texas and Washington. Built around artificial intelligence, it lets shoppers compare home, umbrella — backup coverage for large claims —, car and renters plans side by side by chatting with an automated helper or filling out a form.
