Google Fined €403 Million for Breaking Rules on Tracking Locations

Google Ireland Limited must pay €403 million ($462 million) for breaking Europe’s privacy rules on tracking where people go, like keeping a map of movements. Ireland’s privacy watchdog gave the ruling on 21 September 2026 as the lead EU enforcer, after a 2020 investigation of Web & App Activity, Location History and Location Accuracy between May 2018 and February 2020.
