Oshima Town in Tokyo's Izu Islands was told to move to safety on 21 September 2026 as storm Dujuan brought heavy rain. It stayed at sea off Japan's Pacific coast, never landing on the mainland, but passed over the islands, where slopes flood fast like water off a roof, so danger remains.
