Explosion at Syrian army weapons store kills 11 soldiers

Eleven Syrian soldiers died and nine were hurt when a military storage site for weapons blew up in Ayyash, in western Deir Az Zor, the Defence Ministry said. State media said soldiers were moving large, powerful bullets and shells. Officials did not know the cause on Sept. 19, 2026, and are investigating what happened and how weapons were handled.
