About 280 People Leave Folkestone Hotel After Late-Night Fire

About 280 people left Folkestone's Grand Burstin hotel after a fire. Fire crews were called after 1am Saturday 19 September 2026. Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the fire is thought to have started in the basement, the lowest floor. The cause is not yet known. Folkestone and Hythe District Council opened a safe place at Three Hills Sports Park.
