Scotland's Labour Party Gets a New Leader

Michael Marra will lead Labour's team in Scotland, taking over from Anas Sarwar. Marra, an elected representative in Scotland's parliament at Holyrood, beat fellow Labour representative Joe Fagan in a vote confirmed 19 September 2026. Sarwar left to join Andy Burnham's UK government. Marra must weigh Scottish needs with working with London.
