America’s 30-year government borrowing rate hit 5.34% in mid-August, Bloomberg data show, its worst losing stretch since 2006 heading into September 2026. Think of it as the interest Washington must pay to borrow for 30 years. When that rises, home loans and business loans tend to get pricier. I doubt a quick bounce-back.
