British and Irish Leaders Meet in Manchester, Not London

Britain's leader Andy Burnham was due to meet Ireland's leader Micheál Martin in Manchester on 18 September. It is the first foreign-leader meeting at No 10 North, the government's northern office. They planned to talk about trade, Ukraine and teamwork as Ireland leads EU meetings, plus visit an Irish community centre. London says the site highlights Britain beyond the capital.
