Courts Are Releasing Palestinians Held by Immigration Authorities

Since April, federal judges have ordered the release of at least four Palestinians and their supporters from government immigration detention. These individuals—including a Columbia graduate and a mosque leader—were held for months before courts intervened. No higher court has yet ruled whether the government can legally keep noncitizens in custody based on their political views.
