Fire minister no longer backs fire service boss

Fire and Emergency Minister Brooke van Velden says she no longer backs chief executive Kerry Gregory. She said Gregory did not tell her about a problem collecting the fee that pays for fire services, when bosses are expected to warn ministers early. She said the board chair told her about it about two weeks ago.
