Scottish Conservative wins Aberdeen South seat in by-election

Douglas Lumsden won Aberdeen South for the Scottish Conservatives on 18 June 2026, taking the seat from Labour. It is the first time the Conservatives have gained a seat through a by-election (a special vote held when a seat falls vacant) since the 2024 general election, and their first such win in Scotland in recent memory.
