A Republican tells Trump his immigration crackdown went too far

Republican lawmaker María Elvira Salazar released a 30-second campaign ad telling President Donald Trump his immigration enforcement, the work to control who can stay, has “gone too far.” Salazar represents a Miami-area district that is nearly three-quarters Hispanic, or Latino. She says Hispanics who helped Trump win in 2024 feel betrayed. She must keep their support through November.
