
Defence Companies Leaving the UK Over Lack of Funding
A retired military leader warned on 12 June that Britain's defence budget isn't keeping pace with what's promised, pushing defence companies abroad to countries spending more. A serving military leader also said recently the UK is running out of time to increase defence spending. New Defence Secretary Dan Jarvis, appointed 11 June, starts with a problem: the government has promised big defence plans but doesn't have the systems to turn those promises into actual contracts.
