Next expects to make £1.26bn this year

Next, the UK clothes retailer, now expects £1.26bn profit for the year after raising its guess on 17 September by £12m, the fourth raise in 2026. Sales for the half-year grew 9%, profit before paying tax reached £566m, up 11%. Two unusually warm summers partly helped sales, but winter may be tougher.
