Fed Raises Main Rate to 3.75%-4%

The Federal Reserve, America's central bank, voted unanimously Sept. 16, 2026, to raise its main rate to 3.75% to 4%, up from 3.5% to 3.75%, Yahoo Finance reported. That's a quarter point. Savings may pay a bit more; loans where the rate can change will likely cost more. I'm watching how fast banks follow.
