North Carolina lawmaker runs ad with fake computer images of opponent

North Carolina Sen. Michael Lee ran an ad showing Jessica Bichler bending into strange shapes made by AI like faked photos. Bichler, a yoga studio owner, faces Lee in Wilmington-area Senate district in 2026. The ad said AI was used. Lee told NPR voters in his district are smart enough to spot comedy and obvious parody when they see it.
