Borrowing looks set to stay expensive. Gargi Pal Chaudhuri, strategy chief at BlackRock iShares, said in early September 2026 investors should get used to higher long-term rates. That means mortgages and loans stay pricey, though savings pay more. I think the bigger question is how long you lock money up, not when the next small rate cut comes.
