Allied Jet Shoots Down Suspected Russian Pilotless Plane Over Lithuania

A NATO-allied Italian fighter jet shot down a small pilotless plane believed Russian over central Lithuania on Sept. 15. It came from Belarus and crashed near Pratkunai, north of Kaunas. Lithuania’s defence chief said it carried explosives, with wreckage tests to confirm origin. Russia had not commented, raising questions on protecting towns from sky threats.
