Rome company protecting robots raises $270 million

Rome company Exein raised $270 million led by San Francisco firm Headline on September 15, 2026, worth $1.7 billion. Demand exceeded supply, more than doubling its prior $770 million worth. Started in 2018, it makes locks for robots and smart machines, and will buy rivals, hire staff and expand in the U.S. and Asia Pacific.
