Decades of U.S. Attacks in Somalia Have Not Stopped the Militant Group or Tracked the Damage

The U.S. military has carried out nearly 20 years of airstrikes in Somalia against a militant group called al-Shabaab, but the group remains active. The military is striking more often—26 times in one month—yet doesn't track civilian injuries well and offers little support afterward. One wounded child is still waiting for surgery months later.
