Over a Million EU Citizens Demand Right to Keep Playing Games After Servers Close

More than 1.3 million EU citizens signed a petition called Stop Killing Games, forcing official examination by the European Commission. The petition asks companies to let players continue using games after the online servers that run them shut down—either by leaving the game playable offline or by other means. The EU must respond but is not required to pass new laws.
