10,000 government workers strike; PM says they should be working

About 10,000 government workers went on strike across Aotearoa on 9 September after pay talks broke down. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said they "should be at work." Opposition leaders Chris Hipkins, Chlöe Swarbrick and Marama Davidson joined hundreds of protesters outside the Beehive. Their union, the PSA, wants pay rises of at least $6,000 over two years. Another strike is planned for 23 October.
