Somaliland Opens Its First Embassy in Jerusalem After Israel Becomes First to Recognize It

A territory called Somaliland opened its first official office in Jerusalem on June 15, 2026. Israel became the first country in the world to recognize Somaliland's independence in December 2025. Both countries plan to open offices in each other's cities. This ends decades of global isolation for Somaliland, though many international organizations still haven't decided whether to accept it.
