Charleston's African American Museum Cutting Staff Time to Save Money

The International African American Museum is temporarily reducing all employees' hours through the end of 2026 to manage a budget shortfall. The museum, built on the wharf where enslaved Africans first arrived in America, is spreading the cuts fairly across all workers—from executives to front-line staff—to keep operations running.
