Starmer plans to ban under-16s from TikTok and Instagram

Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to ban children under 16 from TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram. The BBC reported this on 14 June 2026. No law has been drafted yet. The government would need to check users' ages — a technical puzzle Australia struggled with when it tried the same thing last year.
