New Software Could Patch Long-Standing Security Hole in Linux Desktops

A developer has built yserver, a new desktop display system for Linux and BSD computers. The older system, Xorg, written in C, has repeatedly allowed hackers to take control or crash the computer. Yserver uses Rust, a programming language designed to prevent those kinds of errors by catching them before the code runs.
