New Data Shows How One Hospital Rule Saved Over 500 Lives
Martha's Rule, now in every NHS hospital in England, has saved more than 500 lives since 2024. It lets patients and families request a second opinion when they worry doctors are missing warning signs of decline. The number of lives saved keeps climbing as more hospitals use the system—from 400 reported in March 2026 to over 500 by May 2026.
