Surveillance Company Plans to Track Your Phone Through Traffic Cameras

A company called Leonardo is developing sensors that would attach to roadside license plate cameras to also detect mobile phones, smartwatches, and earbuds passing by. These sensors would link your device identity to your vehicle, creating a record of where you go and when. The technology isn't yet widely deployed, but building it is feasible, and law enforcement agencies have financial reason to adopt it.
