Waymo Buys Apple's Self-Driving Test Track for $220 Million

Waymo, the self-driving taxi company owned by Google's parent firm Alphabet, has bought Apple's 115-acre testing ground in Arizona for $220 million. The site simulates busy city driving without using real roads, letting Waymo practice rare, dangerous scenarios much faster than testing on actual streets. Apple abandoned its own self-driving car project last year to focus on artificial intelligence.
