Supreme Court Lets Alabama Use Its Congressional Map

The Supreme Court on June 2, 2026 let Alabama use the congressional map its lawmakers drew for the 2026 elections. A lower court had ordered an outside expert to draw new maps, ruling the original likely broke a federal law protecting minority voters. The approved map removes one of Alabama's two majority-Black districts.
