Extreme Heat in Europe Caused Over 10,000 Deaths in 2026
Europe's extreme summer heat caused more than 10,000 deaths beyond what normally occurs in France, Spain, and Britain, Reuters reported. Britain and France now face their fifth heatwave of the season. Twenty-seven million people in Britain have rules limiting water use, and 70 percent of France does too. Europe is heating up faster than anywhere else on Earth.
