
Colombia's New President's First Day: Military Kills Rebel Leader
Colombian soldiers killed Hernando Forero Mosquera, a rebel leader nicknamed 'El ruso,' along with three fighters in Meta province. The group, called Frente 28, are former guerrillas who never laid down arms after a peace agreement. The strike came right after President de la Espriella promised a tough military stance. Bombings the same day in two other provinces showed the danger remains.
