Senior Iranian Adviser Opposes Ceasefire Extension, Demands $24 Billion in Unfrozen Assets

Mohsen Rezaei, a former IRGC commander now advising Iran's supreme leader, has conditioned any durable peace on the US unfreezing $24 billion in Iranian assets. Rezaei has also accused Washington of violating the war-ending memorandum of understanding. A newly appointed military adviser to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said he opposes extending the US-Iran ceasefire. The ceasefire remains tenuous amid repeated escalations on both sides.
