Jetstar and Qatar Airways planes narrowly avoid collision on Sydney Airport taxiway

A Jetstar A320 taxiing at Sydney Airport on 9 August 2026 came within metres of a Qatar Airways Boeing 777 under tow on a crossing taxiway. The Jetstar pilots braked abruptly; a cabin crew member was injured. The ATSB is investigating, with initial inquiries suggesting the tug pulling the Qatar aircraft may not have followed instructions.
