Husic hospitalised after M7 truck collision, on medical leave as parliament resumes

Labor MP Ed Husic has been discharged from Westmead Hospital with minor fractures, abrasions and a concussion after his car collided with a truck on Sydney's M7 motorway. On medical advice, the former industry minister will take leave from parliamentary duties. Parliament resumes on Tuesday, leaving the government without one of its stronger performers for the opening sitting days.
