
Argentina's Maritime Pilots Strike, Halting Grain Exports After Milei Deregulation Decree
Maritime pilots walked off the job on August 3 after President Milei decreed deregulation of river navigation services. The open-ended strike has blocked at least 45 vessels from Argentina's Parana River grain ports, with 30 more at risk. The coastguard ordered pilots back to work under threat of sanctions. The pilots' union says the decree could cost jobs.
