Driver jailed four years for faking motorway brake failure to dodge car finance
Nathan Owen, of Prestatyn, north Wales, was sentenced to four years at Liverpool Crown Court on August 3, 2026, after admitting dangerous driving and two counts of fraud. Owen drove his electric Jaguar at up to 86 mph on a motorway, then falsely reported brake failure to police — a ploy the court called "frighteningly stupid" — to escape car finance payments.
