Suicide bombing kills 14 at peace rally in Pakistan's Swat Valley

A suicide bomber killed at least 14 and wounded 22 at a peace rally outside Kabal police station in Pakistan's Swat Valley on 2 August 2026. Hundreds had gathered to demand government action against escalating violence. The province recorded 154 terrorism deaths in July, more than double June. No group has claimed responsibility. Pakistan accuses Afghanistan's Taliban government of sheltering cross-border militants; Kabul denies this.
