Hull funeral director jailed 20 years after 67 guilty pleas spanning 12 years of abuse

Robert Bush, 48, owner of Legacy Independent Funeral Services in Hull, was sentenced to 20 years at Hull Crown Court after pleading guilty to 67 offences over 12 years, including 30 counts of preventing a lawful burial. Over 80 victims gave statements. Police found 35-plus bodies and 100-plus sets of ashes in squalid conditions. Families received wrong or substituted ashes.
