Okta's Permiso Acquisition Bets on Pre-Deployment Security for AI Agents

Okta agreed to acquire Permiso Security for roughly $200 million, according to a source. Permiso's SandyClaw platform, introduced in April 2026, sandbox-tests autonomous AI agent skills for malicious behavior before deployment. Okta is buying into identity threat detection and response — and, more forward-looking, into securing AI agents before they reach production.
